I’m proud to show you one of the characters from the game I’ve been working on lately. The task was: “to make an archer, the personal royal guard of the King”. During the approval of the silhouette, I really liked the idea of a half-cape, but it could make animating process too difficult for grabing an arrow behind the back, especially when polycount is limited. But decision to put the quiver on the belt saved the idea with a half-cape (Thank you Yekaterina Bourykina and Zeronis) Also because the game have a top down view, I decided to leave inner side of the cape empty.
In the game for which this character was made, the camera is positioned from above, so I placed the quiver on the belt to avoid the character raising their arm over the shoulder, which saved some polygons under the arms and cloak.
